Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain it seems that you have got an Upper
Respiratory Tract infection leading to
sore throat, cough and phlegm and rise in body temperature..
The pink tinge in mucous seems to be due to slight bleeding from throat as throat is already inflamed and vigorous coughing can cause injury and bleeding..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and also advise you investigations like throat swab culture to rule out the exact cause of infection and treat you accordingly.
In case of viral infection antibiotics will not be advised as they treat bacterial infection and viral infection will run its course and resolve gradually.
You can start taking supportive treatment like tylenol for fever,
Ibuprofen for pain and aches, decongestants like Pseudoephadrine, mucolytics likeAmbroxol, anti allergics like Benadryl, warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and usea humidifier in your room..
You can suck throat lozenges, chew
Vitamin C pellets and sip warm water.
Take
soft diet and avoid spicy and chilled foods..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
