Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain and the symptoms of unable to open mouth completely and also unable to take spicy food with a history of
tobacco chewing indicates a condition known as Oral
Submucous Fibrosis in which there is formation of thick fibrous bands under the mucous of the cheeks leading to stiffening and reduced mouth opening and there is also atrophy of the mucosa leading to burning sensation and pain inside mouth..
You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and in case if Oral submucous fibrosis is confirmed as the cause he can advise you to apply
ointments containing steroid and hyluronidase..
Steroid will reduce burning and pain while hyluronidase will help in breaking the fibres..
Intra-lesional injections of
steroids and hyluronidase can be given in the area of fibres.
Anti-oxidant like
Lycopene can be advised..
Mouth opening exercises can be advised that has to be done 2 to 3 times a day..
Completely quit smoking and chewing tobacco as it is harmful and will cause further reduced mouth opening and as Oral submucous fibrosis is a
precancerous condition if condition is not resolved it can lead to
oral cancer..
Hope this information helps.
Thanks and regards.
