Yes please. I have a strange growth on the right side of my face that seems to be growing at an alarming rate. It is brownish in color and my instinct is to have it removed. I am fair haired and blue eyed so I know that sun is bad for me... I am NOT interested in a subscription service. Just hoping to speak with a pro that can point me in the right direction. I suspect excise is the answer.
I can understand your concern. Yes, the answer is excision. However, if the lesion is small, the entire lesion should be removed and sent for biopsy. If the lesion is large, then a part of it should be excised and sent for biopsy and after the results come, decision for other remaining lesion can be taken.
As there are many lesions that can be harmless or cancerous that can cause this type of growth, biopsy will recognize exactly what kind of cells constitute the lesion and if the lesion is benign or cancerous.
The specialist that you can go to is either a dermatologist, cosmetic surgeon or oral & maxillofacial surgeon as all of these specialists can do this procedure and can advise you further after biopsy results.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HCM. I wish you recover from the lesion soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
