Hi,I am Dr. Radhakrishna (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter who is 9 has been complaining for 2 days that her stomach hurts. Sometimes it is worse then other. She is not running a fever. She is eating just not as much. She says that her right side hurts the most but her left does also just not as bad. Now her back is hurting
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history related to your 9 year old daughter having pain in abdomen for 2 days, no fever, right side hurts more than the left and there is back pain. The most probable causes of such a pain can be colitis, abdominal lymph node enlargement, worms and so on. I would advise her the following in such a situation: Send sample of stool, blood and urine. Clinical evaluation by a Pediatric or General Surgeon. Dewormin. Antibiotic and metronidazole if there is evidence of infection. Ultrasonography of the abdomen. This should help her to get a proper diagnosis and treatment.
