Dear are you alcoholic??? What is the values of Serum amylase and lipase?? Common causes of pancreatitis are gallstones may obstruct pancreatic duct, alcohol cause pancreatitis, other causes like enzyme deficiency alfa 1anti trypsin, infection, malignancy to the head of the pancreas etc...
Managed with conservatively in mild cases, like avoid alcohol, high fatty food, bowel rest for 1or2days followed by oral liquid diet.
if problem is moderate severe need icu admission and observation, need CT abdomen. Possibly ofiver, kidney respiratory failure, development of hypocalcemia etc.. Intravenous line maintenance is needed with antibiotic to reduce infection. Octerotide may used to decrease secretions, pain killers like morphine or Tramadol can be used. If complications developed treated accordingly. I think I answered to your question if you have more questions please feel free to ask.
