HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, gastritis is not the disease it self but it may be the consequences of some disease, it is the inflammatory condition of stomach lining it may be drug induced, it may be due to infection. Gastritis it self or directly may not be treated but the underlying cause need to be taken care, but it is the trends that the antacid and PPI (proton pump inhibitor, Omeprazole ) given for gastritis. Certain elements are there which could aggravate the gastritis, like functional condition like depression, hyperacidity. Advise:- Avoid un-necessary medicine particularly NSAID, avoid spicy food, alcohol, coffee, smoking, hope this information helps.
