Suggest Remedy For Bald Spots In Head Due To Cyst

Hi, I have had a cyst on the top of my head for about 6 weeks. I was seen by the derm. last week and was given antibiotics for 3 weeks until he can cut it out. But the hair around the cyst is falling out very easily and now I have a bald spot the size of a quarter. I'm very concerned if it will not grow back. Any suggestions?

hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
The bald spot has developed as there is a persistent infection. Now hair growth depends whether the area heals with scarring or non scarring. Any infection leads to inflammation, this inflammation if severe and untreated or if the infection is deep, heals with scarring and fibrosis destroying hair follicles. In such cases hair doesnt grow back. Usually a course of antibiotic helps the lesion heal properly and hair grows back. So right now just concentrate on getting the infection treated, once it resolves your doctor will add medicines to induce hair growth
Hope this helped
