Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
About a week ago, I noticed a dot the size of the tip of a pencil on the inside tip of my daugther's (23 months old pointer finger. It is flat and was red last week and now is dark purple or black. At first, I thought she might have cut it on something and it would heal; but now it isn't going away. Should I be worried?
The spot you are describing on your daughter's finger is suggestive of some form of injury. Initially after an injury the area will be red then bluish - black. Complete resolution can take upto 10 - 12weeks. So you need not worry.
