Suggest Remedy For Bleeding In The Ears In Infants

I was cleaning my baby s ear with a q tip. He turned and I don t even know if it went to far. He started crying but stopped as soon as I picked him up. Nothing else happened that day. Until the next day I noticed some blood in his ear. It is now day 3 and blood is still coming out. I feel terrible I have done something to his ears.

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you baby has ear bleeding day after you clean his/her ear with q tip . Well there can be many reason for bleeding from ear . But in your case it seems to me that ear drum rupture will be the reason for bleeding . There can be other reasons also like infection in ear which can also come from upper respiratory infection , otic polyp and foreign body . I would suggest you to consult pediatrician for proper examination . Doctor may examine with otoscope to find out the exact cause . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , done patching or recommend surgery depending upon the o=condition . For now keep the ear dry .
