Hi Fizza and welcome to HCM
Hope the burnt area is healed now with no burning or
redness.
The dark patch is called post inflammatory
hyperpigmentation, as a result of the
injury to the skin.
In case you have any more skin drying or wrinkling, do not peel it off, as you may cause a scar to form by peeling of deeper skin. Th wrinkly skin is dead and will peel off by itself.
Do you have any bumps, water filled blisters, pus etc at the area. Any such signs of infection would have to be treated first before treating the mark.
Also keep in mind if you have sensitive skin or any skin allergies, history of deep
scars or
keloids,etc.
Don't worry, scars fade with time. Since it is still an early scar, it will heal faster to normal skin colour.
You can apply a koijic acid gel at night only over the dark area. Do this for atleast 20 days and check. full effect may take more than a month.
Be careful to apply a good sunscreen always before any sun exposure.
Consult a dermatologist regarding the scar and its improvement , and regarding follow up care.
They can also advise you regarding cosmetic procedures like peels and lasers for scar improvement.
Hope this helps.
