Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A week ago I was trying to climb monkey bars and my foot slipped and I fell and hit my chin hard on the monkey bars and it just started to bruise a few days ago and if I walk/ stand to long it hurts so I m not sure if I chipped or got a hairline fracture but its been a week since my accident and I m not sure if I should get my leg checked out or not
Hi Welcome to healthcaremagic After going through your query I came to know that you injured your shin hard on the monkey bars and it just started to bruise a few days ago. Now it swollen and bruised. Treatment of it is rest. Walking should be avoided. You can get your x ray of leg to see for any undisplaced fracture. Keep leg elevated on pillow at night and resting time. As far as possible avoid keeping limb dependent(keep it elevated). Analgesics (diclofenac three times a day after meals) can be used for pain. Vitamin B-complex and Vitamin C supplementation can used to promote healing. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care.
