My 6 month old daughter has a red pimple like bump in the middle of her eyelid...it has been there for about 2 weeks now. Today it has seemed to look a lot more red than previous days. Should we take her into her pediatrician or is this something we can take care of at home? Thanks
It is likely to be due to an external hordeolum(stye)/ internal hordeolum. Give warm compresses ( difficult to be given in such as young child but you can try with dry warmth). If it persists then it might require oral antibiotics. It is better to consult the pediatrician/ophthalmologist if it persists even after giving warm compresses for 1-2 weeks.
