I have a, "J"/ backwards, "L"/ hockey stick shaped bump protruding from my skin on the palm of my hand near my thumb. It looks as if the form is pushing out against my skin. When I run my finger over it, the bottom part that juts out is raised the most and it lessens throughout the rest of the form. It used to be maybe 1-2mm in length, but over the past few years it's grown slightly over half an inch. At first I thought it was just a weird scar, but I don't ever recollect getting a cut or wound in this particular shape. Plus, since it's definitely gotten bigger, I doubt it's a scar. Most of the time I'm rarely bothered by it, but sometimes I do get a sharp, stinging pain from this little, "L". Could it be a worm or some sort of parasite?
