Suggest Remedy For Bumps On The Tongue Around Site Of Piercing
Hey ive had the snake eyes tongue ring for 9 months now . So a month ago i switched to plastic balls and from then i started growing a white bump around the hole of the left side . I switched back to metal balls and the bump i still there and is a lil bigger . Ive cleaned it with salt water and it goes down a tiny bit . I dont know how to get rid of it . Any suggestions?
I can understand your concern. The bump you have might be due to infection of the area which is called an abscess as it goes down with the use of salt water. Alternatively, it might be due to development of a cyst which is common around the area of tongue piercing.
I would advise you to visit a dentist for the examination of the swelling. If it is abscess, it may need to be drained and you may need to take a course of antibiotics. In addition, you might have to remove the tongue ring for some days or forever.
If you are in pain right now, you can take Ibuprofen 400 mg or Ketorolac 10 mg up to thrice a day.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
