Suggest Remedy For Chronic Dry Cough During Pregnancy
I'm on my third pregnancy. Beginning in the 2nd trimester of each, I develop a chronic dry cough with no other cold like symptoms. It will last for the remainder of my pregnancy. What could cause this? I do not have allergies of any sort. I also notice (when not pregnant) if I get a cold, the cough will linger for an extra 2-4 weeks after all other symptoms have gone away.
dry cough in pregnancy without any infections can be because of hyperacidity. during the second trimester of pregnancy, the intestinal movements decrease due to pregnancy hormones. this can cause acidity and indigestion, then creating irritation in the throat which causes dry cough. eat small portions of food more times a day. avoid tea, coffee, soft drinks, smoking, staying awake late at night and eating spicy, fried food. mild antacids can help too.
