Suggest Remedy For Clogged Ears After Treating Bronchitis

I have gone through bronchitis recently. I have been cured of the disease for over a week, but my ears still feel plugged. They do not hurt, rather, the eardrum itches a little. Is this something to worry about? Should a nasal decongestant work? If so, what do you recommend?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain there is a possibility that there have been infection in ears along with Bronchitis that has led to fluid accumulation behind the ear drum and it is the cause for clogged feeling in the ears..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and along with a thorough clinical evaluation he can do an Otoscopic examination to confirm the cause..
In case of fluid accumulation antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medicines, steroids and oral and nasal decongestants can be advised..
At times manual drainage of fluid can also be accomplished for faster relief from clogging..
Although the ears are clogged I would suggest you not pop your ears trying to unclog as excessive pressure can damage ear drum..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
