Suggest Remedy For Congestion In The Morning Time

Hello Dr. Rynne,Glad you can help give me an answer. I believe I have something that is allergy related. I have been having morning congestion with a small amount of thick phlegm which is thick yellow and greenish in color. I know this usually indicates an infection but other than my left nostril being constantly dry I feel fine. Although when the weather got colder, I did feel tired for about a week. I have using Sinus Rinse which provides temporary relief but no cure. Thanks in advance.Marianna

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that it may be allergic rhinosinusitis- this is an allergy involving the nasal passages and sinuses.

It would be associated with nasal congestion and post nasal drip.

The use of a topical steroid nasal spray and oral antihistamine would normally be helpful.
If you can identify what is causing the reaction and reduce your exposure to it, then this would also help you.

I hope this helps
