ive had a cold and a cough for the past week and a half however in the last 3 days its got worse today all i have wanted to do is sleep and my cough has got that bad that i can feel my stomach muscles pulling...i was bringing a dark greeny colour mucus up yeaterday but nothing seems to be coming up today...im breathless and have asthma but my inhaler isnt working, having minor chest pains which get worse when coughing and feel really lathargic and have no energy ...any ideas?

Management consists of: 1. A course of antibiotics based on culture & sensitivity reports. 2. Asthalin+ Seroflo inhaler- provide symptomatic relief by causing broncho-dilation (dilating the smaller airway passages, relieving the obstruction & increasing airflow to lungs). So, it can be used during an acute attack. 3. Montelukast preparations- used as a maintenance therapy to relieve symptoms of asthma. 4. Antihistamines like Cetrizine and anti-tussive preparations can also be used to provide symptomatic relief from cough. 5. Also make sure that you are well protected from exposure to cold, dust or other allergens.
