Suggest Remedy For Constant Severe Burning Stomach And Weight Loss

I have had severe burning stomach for two years. I can hardly eat anything without it causing me severe burning. All foods, vegs, fruits. I have tried gluten free, and have seen numerous gastro intestinal MDs. No one can give me a real diagnosis. When they look into the stomach, it is severely inflammed and the MDs say that I have NO H-pyloric, it s gone! I have lost weight, and am miserable. Do you think that I have too much acid OR not enough?? What can I do? Is there a medicine for this OR homeopathic way to treat. I need help. Thank you.

Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

Stomach burning is a commonest symptom seen nowadays.

The causes could be excess stomach acid or acute gastritis, gastroenteritis, gastric ulcer or food allergy or stress or drug induced.

You must undergo routine blood investigations and H.pylori, liver function tests, urinalysis and stool for blood, abdominal ultrasound and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy to detect the underlying cause.

Treatment is mainly depend on the cause but you may take symptommatic treatment meanwhile.

Antacids like h2 blockers (ranitidine) or proton pump inhibitors (pantoprazole or rabeprazole) will help to reduce excess acid production in stomach.

You can also take digene gel or liquid or ulcero-protective agents like sucralfate or bismuth subsallicylate to reduce the burning sensation.

Apart from medications you should,

1) eat plain foods like boiled rice and green leafy vegetables without adding spices or oil. It will help to neutriluze digestive acids and also they are easily digestible means there will be no need of extra stomach acid.

2) avoid oily, spicy and fast foods

3) avoid eating full stomach at a time rather have small meals frequently.

4) drink coconut water will help to reduce burning.

5) eat lots of fruits like banana and watermelon.
6) avoid excess tea and coffee.

7) eat or drink buttermilk and yogurt twice daily.

8) chew ginger which releases stomach gases.

9) do morning exercises like walking or jogging which will reduce your stress level.

All this cumulative efforts might work for you.

Consult gastroenterologist for detailed medical history and clinical examination to diagnose the cause.
