Suggest Remedy For Cough, Cold And Running Nose

I am 72 yrs old and sufferring gfrom cough, cold and nose running. My physician suspecting me in initial stages of Asthama , gave me one spray of seroflo 250 in the morning. Since them I am having roughness /hoarseness in my cough and continuously coughing. In fact the frequency of my cough has increased many fold. KIndly advice

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that cold cough and runny nose can be due to causes like Upper Respiratory tract infection also known as common cold while can also be due to Influenza or flu..
Hoarseness in cough can be due to increased cough and mucous production leading to chest and throat congestion with cough..

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like throat swab culture, sputum culture, chest x ray, blood tests and Immunoglobulin G levels can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

You can be advised to take anti allergics like Levocetrizine, decongestant like Peudoephadrine, mucolytics like Ambroxol, do warm saline gargles, steam inahaltion and use a humidifier in your room..
Cough expectorant containing Gueifenesin and cough suppressant like Dextromethorphan can be taken..
You can also be advised to avoid spicy and chilled foods..
Sip on plenty of warm water..
