Suggest Remedy For Cough & Wheezing

My mother-in-law cleans the bathroom with a mixture of pine-sol and clorox. I have been breathing it in for a few days and have been coughing up phlegm, have trouble breathing and am wheezing. I'm leaving in 2 days and have asked her to stop using it around me. Do I need to see a doctor?

Hello dear,

Wheezing is caused due to broncho-constriction (obstruction of smaller airway passages) which is indicative of Hyper-responsiveness of air passages.

Management consists of:
1. Asthalin+ Seroflo inhaler- provide symptomatic relief by causing broncho-dilation (dilating the smaller airway passages, relieving the obstruction & increasing airflow to lungs).
2. Montelukast preparations- used as a maintenance therapy to relieve symptoms of asthma.
3. Antihistamines like Cetrizine and anti-tussive preparations can also be used to provide symptomatic relief from cough.
4. Also make sure that you are well protected from exposure to cold, dust or other allergens.

If symptoms still persist, kindly consult a Pulmonologist for proper clinical evaluation.
