Suggest Remedy For Cyst During Cellulitits Infection

I was diagnosed with cellulitits on the left side of my stomach. I have been on Bactrim for 8 out of the 10 days. Even the site is getting smaller it is still red and seems like it has pus in it now. There is a cyst in the same area. Should I go back to the doctor for more antibiotics?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello dear

Warm welcome to Healthcaremagic.com
I have evaluated your query in details .

* This seems infection phase under recovery , but pus is of concern .

* Must meet the doctor for addition of further antibiotics to recover
faster , till that time keep the part clean with antiseptic liquids , can
use clotrimazole ( 1 % ) dusting powder application 3 times a day .

* In certain cases pus may require surgical intervention with incision
and drainage along with cyst excision also .

Hope this will help to clear your doubt .
Wishing you fine recovery .

Always welcome for any further assistance anytime .
Regards .
