Over the past 2 years I am developing dark spots on my face that are getting larger both of my cheeks are now black I am light brown in color. I have tried numerous department store serum and creams. Is there anything that works or a referral doctor in NYC or should I stop wasting my money?

I would suggest you to start with application of topical antibacterial clindamycin gel You should drink plenty of water. You may use a topical retinoid like Adapalene gel. Apply mashed potatoes on face to lighten skin. Apply creams rich in kojic acid and benzoyl gel as well. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit dermatologist once. Dermabrasion, Fractional CO 2 Laser, Chemical peeling,Miocroabrasion are all recent methods of skin clearing. Don't pick up acne as it will leave scars on face.
