Suggest Remedy For Dark Sunspot On Temple

Hello, I have a sunspot on my left temple which I ve had for years. However, about 3 weeks ago it became very dark. I just looked in the mirror tonight and the thing is gone, disappeared. What do you make of that? I have been planning on calling my old doctor to have it checked out. Not sure what to make of this now.

Thank you for your question here at HealthCareMagic.

Firstly I would like to advise you to calm down, you are fine, what you experienced is not a rare event nor something serious.

There are cases when moles (naevi) can regress and disappear. What you are describing as a black sunspot I assume it was pigmented Spitz naevus (a kind of mole) that is quite common in adolescents and young adults. In some cases it disappears on its own. Nothing to worry about.

I strongly recommend seeing your dermatologist though if you have multiple moles (naevi) at least once each year just to stay safe and avoid other problems. Getting seen by your doctor could never mean a bad thing and if you feel like needing a second opinion for your peace of mind I advise you to go ahead with it.
