Hi, I recently underwent eye surgery for lattice degeneration in my left eye. Since the surgery (one and half months ago), my pupil is still mid-dilated and will not close like it's should in bright light. I discussed my concern with the retina specialist that performed the surgery and he said that it may take some time to return to normal because of the healing process. (Prior to the surgery, he gave me an injection in my eye and then used the argon laser for the procedure.) My instincts tell me that this is a complication from the laser and he is just skating around the obvious. Needless to say, I will not let him touch the other eye until this one is completely healed. Should I be concerned or is he telling me the truth? Thanks in advance.
welcome to HCM portal, Pupillary dialatation may occur as a result of such intervention but that is unlikely to effect your working.Important thing is lattice degeneration, once that is healed you should be under constant followup to monitor degenerative changes elsewhere in retina.
