Hi,I am 23 years old, 167cm tall and weigh 84kg.I was on the pill for a year and stopped taking it 3 1/2 months ago because I was gaining weight from it. I had one irregular period since being off it but the rest were normal (30 day cycle). Now it has been 5 weeks and 1 day since the beginning of my last period and have done 2 pregnancy tests that have come back negative. I have experienced cramping for the last two weeks everyday and have been really drowsy and light headed lately.Could I be pregnant? Or is the pill still effecting me?
If you were sexually active and had been doing unprotected sex, did not take emergency contraceptive pills, and were not on regular contraceptive pills than you can be pregnant. Because your pregnancy tests show negative reports, you are advised to get a per vaginal examination done by a Gynae to detect bulky uterus if pregnant.
Get USG (uterus and fallopian tubes) done to rule out ectopic pregnancy & to detect the gestational age of the fetus if pregnant. You will be accordingly managed and treated. If you are not pregnant, you will be given medicines to help periods come. In the meantime, you will be tested for hormonal problems, PCOS, anemia, thyroid dysfunction, etc.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
