Suggest Remedy For Dermatitis Of The Scalp

Hi, I have some form of dermatitis on my scalp with crater like lesions. I am treating with methotrexate cream from the dermatologist, but it does not seem to heal very quickly. They reoccur in different places on my scalp and take weeks to heal. They can be painful. I also get oral canker sores but not sure if this is related.

Hi.
As per your case history you are having seborrheic dermatitis.
My treatment advice is -
1. Avoid applying hair oil for at least 30 days.
2. Apply an antifungal lotion like clotrimazole lotion twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral fluconazole taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
