Hi, I'm a 19 year old female. This is the second occurance where I felt like I had diarrhea, and pooped blood. The first time it wasn't so much, and it was bright red, the second time, there were tiny blood clots, and bright red. What is wrong with me?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Feeling of diarrhea with passage of fresh blood in a young girl of 19 should be taken seriously. The possible cause can be ruptured hemorrhoids that is piles. Polyp in colon or rectum. Ulcerative colitis and so on. This can be diagnosed by the following ways: Get the stool tests done to get an idea about possible infection or Amoebiasis. Tests of blood and urine. Colonoscopy and upper GI Endoscopy should also be done. Once the cause is found the treatment will be as per the the cause found. If there is an intestinal infection the obvious treatment will be an antibiotic, metronidazole and probiotics. If there are hemorrhoids, surgery may be needed. Take Sitz bath and take laxatives if there is constipation.
