Hello, I have my 3 yr old granddaughter with me since this evening. she just got thru taking antibiotics for an ear infection on Tues. (5 days of meds) but her ear is and has been draining a lot. It s clear but really a lot coming out. I gently cleaned it off & changed the cotton they had in her ear to catch the drainage & put new clean one in the outer canal. It doesn t bother her or seem to hurt at all. Is there anything else to do or will it clear up the rest of the way by itself?
Hi, It seems that she might be having otitis media and there might be having perforation in ear drum giving drainage from middle ear. Continue antibiotic for 2-3 days more. Put antibiotic ear drops 2-3 times daily after cleaning pus. If there is no improvement then go for culture and sensitivity of ear discharge and then go for appropriate antibiotic medicine course as your doctor advises. Ok and take care.
