Suggest Remedy For Dry Bumpy Patch On The Scalp

I visited Ongole in 2006, and while there developed a condition where I became obsessed over an area of my scalp. What started as a bump became a spot with an occassional itch and a need to constantly touch, rub or bother the area in some way. Years later it continues to disturb me, though less frequently. The area is dry, callous and bumpy. I believe there is something under the skin, such as a parasite. Doctors here in the US dismissed it as anxiety and it's all in my mind.
