Suggest Remedy For Dry Cough In Toddler Leading To Gagging And Breathing Difficulty
My son is 2. He has had this cough for 7 weeks. Took him to the doctors today and they wouldn t prescribe him anything as his chest sounds clear but i know this as it s not a chesty cough. Over the weeks i have spent £s on medicines but none of them as worked. Today he developed a temperature. It s got to the point were he s gagging when coughing, breathing heavily and also breathless when coughing, he has been sick a couple of times. It s keeping him awake at night to. I ve even tried vapour rub and putting pillows under his so he can breathe easily. Please if anybody can help me and give me their advice then please do as i m getting concerned. Thank you Regards Laura He has astma so they say but even his inhalers doesn t work. When i told my hospital that my doctor said he had astma at 1 year old, they said the doctor shouldn t say that as it s hard to diagnose children with astma. Sorry can i also add that he hasn t had a cold with this cough or runny nose. Also he hasn t been around smoke as none of us smoke. 2 minutes ago
This might be a bronchitis or an unusual infection like pertussis. Try taking a video recording during next bout of cough and show to your pediatrician, so that he will be more convinced for further investigation or treatment. In such cases, I used to go for a blood routine, ESR and chest X-ray as initial set of investigations. Your doctor will guide you.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
