Suggest Remedy For Elevated Bilirubin

Bilirubin elevated to 2.7, I m 57 y/o have high blood pressure, mostly controlled with medicine, high cholesterol, & hypothyroidism. 40 lbs overweight. Do occasionally enjoy mixed drink. This is first time with lab work this was found. Recommend things to do/ concerns?

Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Get a liver function test along with direct and indirect bilirubin.
2. Need to control cholesterol, possibly fatty liver disease. However, diagnosis is based on direct or indirect bilirubin which is elevated. Hypothyroidism can also cause elevated bilirubin due to reduced metabolism, repeat of bilirubin to be done after treatment with thyroxine.
3. Advise stopping alcohol, weight reduction, control of lipid profile and regular medication for all including hypothyroidism.
