Suggest Remedy For Epilepsy
sir i am suffering from epilepsy from last 10 years. it comes while sleeping. i am taking medicine (carbomazepine tablet 100 mg ,phenytoin tablets 100mg ,folic acid tablet )when i stop taking those medisons it comes back last time it comes one and half year back i want to stop the medicine tell me what should i do.

I see epilepsy patients very regularly in my clinic and completely understand your concerns.
Treatment of epilepsy depends on its cause (MRI brain with epilepsy protocol required) and characterisation of its type (EEG required).Often inspite of investigation no obvious cause is found ,in these cases treatment has to be continued for at least 2 years of seizure free interval and then gradually tapered off by neurologist.It seems that the choice and dose of anti epileptic drugs you are taking is inappropriate.You must see a neurologist .
