Suggest Remedy For Extreme Fatigue With Weightgain And Heavy Periods

Hello, I am a 44 y/o female. I have had no energy, stopped going to gym, everyday is just getting through. I am consistently gaining weight. Not going to the gym isn t me. Gaining weight concerns me. I have gone from 125 to 148 in 3 yrs. My thyroid is in the high 2 s & my glucose is 121. I do have extreme menses. Obgyn prescribed oral contraceptives that I would take for 3 mos then have a period & resume pills. Honestly, I think this has made my energy worse, mental bad & lead for more weight gain. But what do I know. I am at an all time LOW. I don t know where to start/go: obgyn, endocrinology, therapist..

Hello,

First of all, you need an endocrinologist.

I suppose you may be having low thyroid which is causing increased body weight and fatigue.

This can be improved by taking levothyroxine.

Also, you can do diet changes and exercise to stabilize glucose levels without medications yet.

Than menstrual cycle can get more regular as thyroid is stabilized.

You also should get checked for iron deficiency anemia because of prolonged menstrual bleeding history.

Taking iron supplements and vitamin C is advisable.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
