Suggest Remedy For Fatigue And Headaches After Suffering A Concussion

I hit my head and suffered a concussion 9 days ago. noticed a dent in my head when it happened but worker s comp doc told me it was from swelling. I tried to explain there wasn t much swelling but I was pretty out of it. spent a week feeling like in a tunnel, and difficulty concentrating, fatigue, sensitivity to sound and light. Getting better but dent is still there - but I have pain to touch in center top of head, dent is right side rear - and headaches radiate across forehead or on left side. do I have a fracture and if so, what should I do?

Hello. Thanks for asking form HCM.

I can understand your concern. It is good that your symptoms are gradually decreasing and you are conscious, oriented after 9 days of injury. It also signifies non dangerous head injury.

Now regarding your pain, it is pretty normal to have headache for few days after injury. It usually resolve on its own. You can take painkiller like Diclofenac sodium after proper prescription.

Regarding your complaint of possibility of dent and fracture, let me clear you that most common skull bone fracture is linear which cannot be appreciated by feeling. It can only be confirmed by direct visualisation through wound or CT/X ray skull. Treatment of such type of fracture needs symptomatic relief only by taking painkillers.

Dent can occur after depressed fracture which can be felt by palpating scalp. Confirmation is by CT/X ray skull. Treatment may be conservative or surgical depending upon Ct reports.

Hope it will help you.
Thanks. Take care
