Hello and thank you for asking HCM.
I have read the report of your friend, and i understand your concerns.
Ofloxacin is a great antibiotic, and the dose that your friend used is the wright one to treat most of the infections of the
urinary tract. It is normal for some symptoms to take more time to vanish than others. But depending from the symptoms he will need or not to use another type of antibiotic, not the same one.
If i was your doctor, i would wait 4 or 5 days after the treatment and see the results. If the symptoms persist,or the situation is worse than prior to the treatment, than i would do an urine culture and start another antibiotic.
I suggest this,if your friend, has the same symptoms, including
fever he needs to do an urine culture and check up with the physician to take the recipe with antibiotics.
-He can use
ibuprofen for the pain/burning sensation.
-plenty of liquids to flush the bacteria out of the bladder
-urinate always after having sex
-to not hold the urine for long
-use chamomile tea,or rose tea to help the bladder to heal itself and fight the bacteria
