Suggest Remedy For Fever With Swelling In Hands In Patients With Low Bp
My mother is 61 yrs old. She has low BP and has gastric and nerve pains... resulting in swelling of hands and feet cramps. She is down with fever for the past two days which is just not reducing. Doctor has advised Topcef/ Alaspan as antibiotic. Since she has been taking the medicine, her hand has swollen more and she is in great pain. Also the fever is not reducing below 101 degrees. Can we give her a painkiller (Voveran/ Combliflam)? And is the treatment that is going on correct?

Thanks for posting your query.
First of all the diagnosis has to be made before discussing about treatment. I presume no tests has been done right?
Fever indicates Infection , either bacterial or Viral. It needs to be differentiated as treatment is different for both.
She requires certain blood tests like Complete Hemogram, IgM Typhi dot, Smear for Malaria, SGPT,SGOT, Urine routine. With the results of these tests we will get an idea of what is causing her fever and hand swelling.
Kindly get these tests and revert back with reports.
Hope you find this information useful. Any clarifications feel free to ask.
