Suggest Remedy For Fishbone Stuck In Throat

Hello I swallowed a mackerel fishbone on Thursday evening. It's now Saturday. I haven't chocked or been sick but my throat feels like there may be something lodged there. I've swallowed lump of bread, chewed nuts and eaten cereal with porridge. It there is a bone still there, will the enzymes in the throat eventually erode it?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it does not seems like the fishbone is struck in the throat but the chances are more probable that the sharp edges of the bone has caused laceration to the throat mucosa due to which it got inflamed and swollen and it is giving the feeling of something struck in the throat..

Nothing to worry about it, you can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen [advil or motrin] for relief.
Drink plenty of cold water as it also helps in relieving inflammation and pain in throat..
Take a soft diet and avoid hot,spicy and hard foods to prevent further irritation and let the healing take place soon.
Continue doing the same for 1 week and in case if you do not see any improvement consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated..
