Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My blood pressure runs from about 106-124 over 55-65, depending on time of day, etc. My pulse is between 52 to 61, also depending on circumstance. I am 62 years old, and I have been a runner for almost 40 years. Also lift weights. 6 2 , 188 pounds. Are my BP readers a cause for concern? I worry about the pulse pressure. Thanks.
Hi, Welcome. This is Dr Sameer. Your bp & pulse are absolutely normal & you don't need to worry. Athletes like you (runner) generally have a low heart rate, which can be as low as 40-45. Pulse pressure is also fine & their is nothing to be concerned of. Come back if you need any more help & keep running. Thanks
