Suggest Remedy For Foul Smelling Poop

My 15 month old boy has soft orange foul-smelling poop with bits of red and white in it. The white look like sesame seeds or rice puffs (he hasn t eaten either of these though but did eat watermelon yesterday) and the red bits feel like tissue (human tissue not Kleenex). Should I be concerned? He is eating ok, nursing and sleeping more than usual and is quite cranky.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It seems your kid is having viral diarrhea. Once it starts, it will take 5 to 7 days to completely get better.

Unless the kid is having low urine output or very dull or excessively sleepy or blood in motion or green bilious vomiting, you need not worry.

I suggest you to use zinc supplements (Z&D drops 1 ml once daily for 14 days) and ORS (Each small packet mixed in 200 ml of potable water and keep giving sip by sip) as hydration is very important and crucial part of treatment.
