Suggest Remedy For Foul Vaginal Discharge

Hello doctor, I have a few questions I need answers for. My first question is; I recently noticed that I have a odd plastic like smell as well as discharge coming from my vagina. Ive had this smell before a few weeks after giving birth to my son almost 5 years ago but thought it was the condom my husband and I were using. My husband and I no longer use condoms because I decided to have the IUD skyla inserted as a different method of birth control and now it smell is back. After intercourse the smell is more noticeable. I do have a lot of problems with endometriosis, adnomiosis, pelvis inflammatory disease. As for my second question, after having a vaginal birth I noticed a big change in the look of how everything looks down there. I have noticed my pelvic floor right at the opening to my vagina a soft squishy round-like flesh pertuding from the opening of my vagina especially when having a bowel movement. When having a bowel movement it s almost as if I m pushing out everything including my cervix through my vagina & this makes it very difficult to even having a bowel movement.

Hello,

You are suffering from foul vaginal discharge more noticeable after sexual intercourse. Take care of your hygiene. Take fruit high in vitamin C to improve the immune system and help the body recover from a vaginal infection. Take fruits like oranges, pineapples, cranberries and grapes that are all high in vitamin C. Taking apple cider vinegar may also help.

Foul vaginal odor is commonly due to hormonal changes, excessive sweating, certain diet, forgotten tampon, BV, trichomoniasis or yeast infection, etc. You will be treated with metronidazole (Flagyl), tinidazole (Tindamax) if trichomoniasis is detected. Both the partners are treated and are supposed to take the medicines two times a day for seven days to help clear the infection.

BV is commonly treated with a course of metronidazole. If you are diagnosed with yeast infection, you will be prescribed with an antifungal cream to apply into your vagina, an oral tablet to take or a suppository to be inserted into the vagina. You are also suffering from uterine prolapse and your cervix is coming quite low during bowel movement.

It can be very infectious. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a gynecologist, get per vaginal examination done, get USG if required done. Your treating doctor may suggest pap smear and other required tests and investigations to be done. Get it done and get treated at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
