Cold and cough are very common in children till 5 yrs of age. A child can get 10 to 15 episode of cold per year. I know it's very worrying as a parent, but most of them are mild self limiting infections.
When the cold lasts for more than 2 weeks or associated high fever with yellow nasal discharge, then it should be attended. Also when there is fast breathing, poor oral intake and decreased activity, then your child should be seen by a pediatrician.
Now, for your child, oral decongestants like Maxtra drops or Phenergan can be tried along with frequent administration of nasoclear drops in nose (Normal saline nasal drops).
If any of the above mentioned symptoms are there, then kindly show your baby to a pediatrician.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
