Hello,
You have been on high protein diet, lost 70 lbs. Presently, you are experiencing muscle spasms and had
severe pain (muscle cramp) on your upper thigh. Try applying ice or heat (take a warm bath or use a
heating pad) to relieve muscle cramp. You can take
acetaminophen or Combiflam, one SOS to get rid of the discomfort. You have lost a lot of weight and have stayed un-replenished with adequate amount of fluids and water.
Depletion of electrolytes (salts and minerals like potassium,
magnesium and calcium in your body) may cause muscle spasms.
Dehydration,
muscle fatigue, restricted blood supply in the muscles and stress may also cause muscle spasms. Do light exercises, stay active. Avoid overusing the muscles. Stretch the affected area. Do gentle massage on the affected area with your hands or a massage roller. Taking a nice warm bath.
Take a balanced home made nutritious diet. Taking daily
vitamin B12 complex can help. you can also take food rich in vitamin B6, B12. Drink fluids frequently. Choose water and avoid alcohol and caffeine. Keep your weight at a healthy range. Avoid medications that may cause muscle spasms as a side effects.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
