II have had a Raspy voice for atleast 15 years... I ve worked as a bartender in a busy establishment and I know there was a lot of having to raise my voice due to that..... I m.really tired of having people ask me if I have a cold.... I dont.... its just that way.... is there anything I can to to make it sound normal? I m 44, thin to average size... 150 lbs and 5 6 .
Noted your history of raspy voice for over 15 years, working as bartender. The best way to get a proper diagnosis as as follows: Get an appointment of an ENT Surgeon for proper Laryngoscopy to the exact cause. Once a proper diagnosis is made, further management will be as per the cause found. If there is paralysis of one vocal cord then corrective surgery is possible now-a-days. IF there is thickening of the vocal cords then medical management will help you. But surely you have to give rest to vocal cords for proper outcome.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
