Unfortunately, the only thing that is UNIVERSALLY recommended to be relatively safe (if not overused as well) is Acetaminophen or Tylenol. It is not recommended that you take more than label instructions and in fact, I always counsel pregnant patients to try and limit themselves to about HALF of what the label says just to be extra sure that adverse problems do not occur in the baby's liver which is the target organ of problems for acetaminophen. There is no other prescription or OTC medication considered safe specifically for headaches. Measures such as excellent hydration, getting proper sleep (I know how difficult it is for you at 34 weeks), eating your meals on time and avoiding hypglycemia, and AVOIDING medications that have potential side effects of headaches are other things you can look after. You can also try either hot or cold packs on the head, resting in a quiet and dark room, and then try relaxation techniques, deep breathing exercises with focus on FEELING WELL and FREE OF DISCOMFORT OR TENSION. Try relaxing the neck with a modest massage perhaps by a family member.
