Hi Mereyda,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.If you would have presented to me as an outpatient,I would have made the following clinical explanation-
Migraine is a clinical diagnosis. If you are having episodic unilateral headache(on right side) it can well be migraine. Some of the typical symptoms of migraine are-
1)nausea
2)
Photophobia and phonophobia(headache worsens on exposure to bright light and sound)
3)Visual aura
If you have checked the typical symptoms and they are present in you,it indeed is migraine.
Alternatively,it can be a common manifestation of '
Stress headache' or 'Tension type headache'(TTH).
Numbness and feeling of
scalp swelling are common features of TTH.
However, sometimes computerised tomographic(CT) scan is done to rule out other secondary structural causes of brain which can present with migraine like headache.
Please discuss with your physician to put you on tricyclic antidepressants and some abortive anti-migraine drugs. If the symptoms persist, then you can be evaluated with a CT Head to see for secondary causes. I hope it helps.
