Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. This lipoma or lesion seems extending from posterior cranial fossa of cranium to cervical spine nerves and causing pressure on them. From your complaint, it is not clear whether you are a high risk patient or surgery is high risk due to difficult location. You can provide more details by asking another question.

Regarding pain relief, as it is compressing the nerves, it is causing radicular pain. This type of pain is sever in intensity and also cause burning/needle like sensations in neck and upper limbs. If your features are resembling, it means your pain is radicular pain.

Now to get relief, you can follow few tips

: Avoid neck flexion or forward bending
: Avoid use of pillow while sleeping in supine position
: Avoid carrying weight on your head or lifting weight more than 5 kilograms
: You can take painkiller specific for radicular pain like Pregabaline/Gabapentine/Amitryptiline after proper prescription. Still no relief, you can take combination therapy like Gabapentine-Nortryptiline/Pregabaline-Nortryptiline.
: If pain persists, you can ask doctor for injectable pain killer like Tramadol/Opioids like Pentazocine/Fentanyl. They are strong painkiller and can cause sedation
: There are painkiller patches like NSAIDS patch which can be applied over skin. These usually provide relief for 8-12 hours.
: There are local painkiller ointment like Capsacine cream/Diclofenac cream which can be applied over pain site.
: If still no relief, you can consult your doctor regarding decompressive surgery to relieve pressure on nerves

Hope it will help you.

Thanks. Take care.
