Suggest Remedy For Hearing Problem

im 18, about 5 9 and i m having a bit of a hearing problem in my left ear, the day it happened i was laying my head down on it against a pillow and when i woke up, everything became harder to ear and muffled, i hear a constant ringing and i ve tried several ways to fix it on my own but none have worked to even open it up a bit, my guess is that the way i was laying down compressed my ear or something to where i got no air flow but im not sure about it, it happened the same way a few weeks ago but i was able to open it up a bit after the 2nd day, and if there s anyway to fix it, it would be great, thanks!!

Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

The symptoms could be secondary to Eustachian tube block/Ear wax or seldom Idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss. Try doing steam inhalation and over the counter xylometazoline nasal spray. If the symptoms do not get better in a day or two, consult your doctor immediately.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Naveen Kumar, ENT Specialist
