Hi Doctor. I am a 28 year old/F. Have been sweating heavily on Armpits even at room temperature and makes me smell bad, for years. This is hampering my daily life. got my TSH checked and it came out to be 21. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism last month and I am taking thyronorm 50mcg for this. However, the problem for sweating has been there for years. Please prescribe a prescription for non sweating. All my other health factors are in control and I am unmarried
I can understand your concern for heavy sweating on Armpits. In general I suggest following measure to reduce the sweating:
1. Alum can be used for bath. After proper bathing in warm water, rub alum over the armpit for 10 minutes.
2. You can use armpit for foot Baths - Take half cup of vinegar in a bucket or tub partially filled and dip in for 20-25 minutes
3. You can use baking soda in place of alum or vinegar in the same way as for vinegar.
4. A simple Salt Water Soak can do wonders in sweat and smelly armpit. Be careful if you have any open cuts or sores on your armpit. So do not follow it if you have any open abrasions.
5. Wear cotton clothes and change it in every day.
All the best.
