Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My father has a bp of 172/98. He is also experiencing pain from an ankle injury. It is my understanding that pain can create elevated BP. He has a history of high blood pressure and is taking a variety of medications to counteract his BP. His normal BP in the 160/upper 80 s. Should I worry about his BP at it s current reading?
Hi, You are correc,t pain can cause elevated BP. But anyway it should be treated. Now his BP is 172/98 and as you mensioned his normal BP is 160/80, actually both are elevated. He should visit his doctor to revise the treatment.
